Monday, March 10, 2025 - The Gen Z revolution in Kenya remains strong despite some of its key activists being absorbed by the Government.
If President William Ruto hoped to neutralize the movement
by bringing figures like Kasmuel McOure to his side, the latest events suggest
otherwise.
A viral video circulating online shows
young Kenyans still actively opposing state tyranny and the misuse of public
funds.
One such activist, Kitenge Joshus,
participated in Sunday’s protests at Jesus Winner Church in Roysambu, where
demonstrators condemned President Ruto’s Ksh 20 million donation and his pledge
of Ksh 100 million to the church.
Joshus criticized Ruto for using
taxpayer money to gain political favor while critical sectors like healthcare
remain underfunded and many youths struggle with unemployment.
He warned that the youth-led protests
were merely on a "half-time break" and that mass demonstrations
against the administration would soon resume.
He further argued that today’s Gen Z is
the most educated generation in Kenya’s history and will continue to speak out
against Government malpractices.
President Ruto, however, remains
defiant, insisting his church donations will continue and dismissing critics as
"agents of the devil."
