Sunday, August 18, 2024 - Rapper Blac Youngsta can finally put a lingering legal issue behind him after a Dallas court dismissed his gun case this week.
The case, which stemmed from a 2020 arrest, involved a
charge of unlawful possession of a firearm by a felon. According to documents obtained
by TMZ, the case has now been officially closed.
Blac Youngsta’s attorney, Carl A. Moore, expressed his
client's relief, stating that Youngsta is pleased to have resolved the matter
after nearly four years. Moore commended the District Attorney’s Office for
dropping the charge, emphasizing that justice had been served.
The arrest occurred in October 2020 during a routine traffic
stop. Blac Youngsta was riding as a passenger when police officers reportedly
found a handgun tucked between his legs. Despite the serious nature of the
charge, Youngsta was cooperative with the officers at the scene, as seen in
video footage obtained by TMZ.
This incident was Youngsta's second gun-related arrest in as
many years. In September 2019, he was involved in another legal issue when
police claimed that he admitted to owning a bag containing two semi-automatic
pistols and prohibited ammunition found in his car.
Blac Youngsta turned down a pre-trial diversion program
before prosecutors eventually decided to drop the case, allowing him to move
forward without further legal complications.
